Since opening in 1993, the health law practice at Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C., has been providing a wide range of services to all levels of healthcare practitioners and entities, including medical liability defense. The Medical Liability Practice Group is recognized throughout the state as a leader in defending hospitals and physicians in complex, high exposure medical malpractice cases as well as providing counsel on risk management issues facing health care entities and practitioners in today's challenging health care environment. The Medical Liability Practice Group is compromised of a highly skilled team of lawyers and paralegals, each with a strong background in medical liability defense and risk management issues.
Currently, the practice group consists of five primary attorneys: four partners, Michael Neubert, Peter Fay, Eric Stockman, and Gretchen Randall; and 'Counsel', Maureen Sullivan Dinnan. The three partners in the practice group have over forty years of experience in healthcare litigation. Our practice group has extensive trial and appellate experience representing hospitals, group practices and individual physicians in both state and federal courts. We also have extensive experience representing providers and institutions before the Department of Public Health at hearings and in investigatory proceedings.
Our collective case experience includes significant trial work for all types and levels of medical claims on behalf of hospitals, physicians and surgeons, allied health professionals and dentists. In addition to trial work in all state and Connecticut federal courts, lawyers in our practice group have argued appeals before the Appellate Court and Supreme Court of Connecticut, as well as in federal jurisdictions including the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
