Michael Neubert, a founding partner of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C., has extensive experience in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, hospital liability, professional liability defense, product liability, administrative law, premise liability, municipal companies, corporations, hospitals, municipalities, and a major utility company. He has successfully tried many jury and court trials in state and federal court, and has handled appeals before the Connecticut Supreme Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Before co-founding Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, Attorney Neubert was a principal at the law firm of Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, P.C. from 1987, and was the managing principal in its New Haven office from 1991 to 1993. He first joined Updike, Kelly & Spellacy in 1983 after three years with the Public Defender's Office.
He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with honors in 1974, and obtained a law degree from the University of Connecticut in 1978.
Attorney Neubert is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Connecticut Society for Healthcare Risk Management, the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association, and the Connecticut and New Haven County Bar Associations. A former vice chairman of the Medical-Legal Committee of the CBA, he is a frequent speaker at seminars on trial practice, professional liability and health care risk management. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Regis Healthcare Center, a subsidiary of the St. Raphael Healthcare System, and was chairman of the Financial Committee of St. Regis Healthcare Center.
