Attorney Monteith Neubert, also known as Attorney Monteith, graduated with honors from Williams College in 1977 and received her law degree in 1980 from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She joined the law firm of Updike, Kelly & Spellacy in 1980 and became a principal of the firm in 1987. She founded Neubert, Pepe & Monteith in 1993. Attorney Monteith practices in the areas of construction, design professional law and employment law. In the design and construction area, she has counseled design professionals, owners and contractors during all phases of design and construction, and represented them in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution during construction. She has also been an arbitrator and a mediator. She is the co-author of two professional practice publications for design professionals, and has given numerous seminars in this area. In the employment law area, she works primarily as a consultant in areas such as employee-at-will, handbook review, drafting and analysis, employment negotiations and agreements, severance agreement, age, race, sex, and disability discrimination, wages and hours issues, and human resource assistance. She has practiced before state and federal administrative agencies and courts in this area, and is on the roster as a Hearing Officer for National Arbitration and Mediation. Attorney Monteith is a member of the Construction Law Sections of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations, and of the Labor and Employment Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. She is also a member of the New Haven County Bar Association.
